SJPF President Evangelista highlights the SPIN Youth project in his latest Newspaper Article

April 3, 2025

In  a recent article published in the Portuguese newspaper “Record”, the president of the country’s football players’ union Sindicato dos Jogadores Profissionais de Futebol and longtime SPIN partner, Joaquim Evangelista, speaks about the objective and relevance of the latest SPIN project:

“While earlier projects focused on supporting migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and women, we are now dedicating to young people. The SPIN Youth project, financed by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, hands over the responsability of developing activities to a group of young people with leadership skills, in a collaborative process.

The challenge has been set: how can they make their club or association open, inclusive and capable to promote values that are, actually, at risk. I look forward to seeing the result of the work that’s beeing developed and believe that it’s not by abandoning young people, neither leaving them to disbelief or indeference that we’ll solve the social problems that are evident to us all.

When we support them, make them accountable, and provide them with tools, they can fight for their future and we’re pleasently surprised with the outcome.”
